I intend to build a sophisticated control system for the new house. One of the things that I really want to get done is the HVAC controls. I want to be able to individually control the temperature in each room. The first thing that I will need is some system of reading the temperature in each room. I think the simplest yet most flexible way is to put in a temperature sensor that is capable of putting the data on an RS-485 network.
I am still just thinking about this so it is very preliminary. This page is nothing more than my notes to date.
